Today Wes and I went on a little adventure!

We noticed how beautiful it was outside and decided to take advantage of this amazing weather and go for a walk! We discovered that behind the Museum at my school.. there’s a

Historic Appalachian Settlement ground…

who knew? it was super cool though! and I got some awesome pics! just want to warn you though.. there are tons! =) and it may be a little nerdy! sorry! I love places like this!

oh first, these are the beautiful flowers Wes bought me for valentines day! daisies and lilies! =) so pretty!

now.. onto the adventure!

we found some really cute cabins! it made me want a mountain house to go to in the fall/winter!

is this frozen yogurt shop where you pick your yogurt and then your toppings (like anything you could want) and then they weigh it to see how much it will cost..

its pretty cool!

Cookie Dough Brownies

from “cookies and cups”

For Brownies:
1 c. butter
3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder (I used Hershey's Special Dark)
2 1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Line 9x13 baking pan with foil, so the bottom and sides are covered. Spray with cooking spray.
Melt 2 sticks of butter in a medium saucepan; add cocoa, stirring until smooth.

Remove from heat and cool slightly. Add sugar, salt, eggs, and vanilla; beat with a spoon until combined. Add flour and baking powder; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.

Spread batter into pan

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

*Good tip for brownies is remove from oven when toothpick inserted 1-2 inches from edge comes out clean.

Allow brownies to cool completely before moving on to the next step.

For Cookie Dough Filling:
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. packed light brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
4 Tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Combine first 5 ingredients in a mixing bowl and cream together. Add flour and stir until combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread in an even layer on top of cooled brownies. Chill for at least 15 minutes in fridge before adding the chocolate topping.

For Chocolate Topping:
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 Tbsp. Crisco shortening

Melt chocolate and shortening in microwave for 1 minute, stirring until smooth.

Spread over the cookie dough layer and chill until topping is set.

Keep refrigerated until serving.

these were soooo yummy! and so rich! I would definitely give them a shot!

My Auntie Loves Me

This weekend …

when I was home with my sister, she surprised me by buying BrookeLynn this adorable outfit!! I’ve been wanting to her to have an auntie outfit so bad! isn’t it precious?

I was going through pics and I found this pic of my room that I meant to blog and never did! haha so heres my apt room! it kinda matches the outfit I bought huh?

I decided for valentines day I want to send my sis a package! I’m gonna fill it with sweet tarts (her fav), lotion, onsie for BrookeLynn and something for Jason, my nephew! I haven’t decided what for him yet! I’m really excited!

Ever since the valentines exchange I’ve been really into mailing! its just so fun to get things in the mail and hear from someone who got your package! So I’m gonna send a card to my parents and Ash too!

I think everyone should do something special for a friend or family member this v-day! it doesn’t have to be a strictly romantic holiday! =)
